I grew up in a remote corner of England’s Lake District, spent a year in southern France, and in 2008 found my way to Oxford University, where I gained a first studying French and Polish at St Anne’s College. I spent time in both France and Poland before visiting Japan on a language scholarship, and now work full time as a translator from these three fairly distinct languages.
